As a Product Line Manager within the CDTO Product management team you’ll be at the forefront of defining and driving product strategy, identifying key outcomes and driving to achieve success metrics across the Business Domain(s) that you are aligned to.

This role would offer you an opportunity to be results-driven, and customer-focused, transforming our Digital Growth Platform for Sales business domain which has a line of visibility to the Senior Leadership team.

You will have the opportunity to be a part of and drive VMware’s multi-year strategy for Sales Planning, Sales Execution and Renewals Sales management by heading key initiatives and driving cross functional alignments from Demand to Quote and Order to Cash.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Build an expertise in the domain you are aligned to and the capabilities you will own.

  • Build a roadmap for the capabilities you own with a strategic approach to problem-on hand

  • Develop a strong working relationship with business partners, which includes Business Franchisees, Business operations, Business functions etc.

  • Influence and drive continuous improvements of product development life cycle processes, practices and initiatives.

  • Strong execution of the roadmap with collaboration from Business teams and Engineering teams.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • As a product line manager, you will own the internal CPQ System roadmap. The ideal candidate has experience in a functional CPQ role with hands-on and high-level experience in translation of complex product combinations into configurations and rules.

  • In this role you will lead the transformation of the Configure, Pricing and Quoting processes including foundational capabilities like product and pricing simplification into an internal CPQ application

  • You will be responsible for partnering with business stakeholders and engineering teams to streamline, simplify and incorporate into a functional roadmap for CPQ on the Force.com platform

  • You will be responsible for identifying dependencies with other business systems to achieve full automation and adoption by Sales team and Partners. Must have sound knowledge on upstream and downstream business capabilities like Opportunity Management, Order & Invoice Management, Customer Success and Lead to Cash

  • Deeply understand, document, analyze, and synthesize user needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications

  • Engage with multiple business stakeholders to ensure clear and concise documentation of planned features as epics and user stories

  • Collaborate with engineering, business development and data analytics teams to ship new, impactful platform capabilities that accelerate our time to value

  • Drive collaboration with your team by facilitating workshops and activities, aligning team members on product outcomes, bringing clarity where there is ambiguity, and keeping everyone aligned throughout delivery

  • Identify critical assumptions, define experiments, measure success metrics, and use data to inform decisions

  • Utilize data analytics, research, product reviews, user feedback and product testing to ensure consistency and quality across all end user features

  • Grow and support a talented team of Product Managers and Product line Managers who take pride in building high-quality high-impact products, embody VMware’s EPIC2 values, and have fun together

  • Identify critical assumptions, define experiments, measure success metrics, and use data to inform decisions

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The Product Line Manager will be reporting to the Dir, Product Management in Chief Digital Transformation Office in VMware. She/He currently leads some of the major initiatives/products in Lead to Cash Domain and has rich expertise in building SaaS Demand to Quote products.

She/He currently leads a team of highly experienced Product Managers across the US & India in the CPQ domain. This creates a vibrant and collaborative culture to grow and learn from each other. Individuals are provided high amount of empowerment and independence to drive critical product lines with a strong emphasis on VMware EPIC2 values.

Remote: this role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in United States.
